Ashanti Gold Sporting Club have suspended coach CK Akunnor for failing to resume work for the first team.
The former Dreams FC manager was expected back in Obuasi at the start of the week to continue his duties following a brief break.
Akunnor was however no where to be found when the first team converged for training on Monday.
He was later seen doing punditry work on TV around the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup.
This is said to have infuriated the top hierarchy of the Miners who decided to place an interim ban on him.
“CK (Akunnor) is currently suspended until further notice”A club source told footballmadeinghana.com
“The coach has been asked to answer questions as to why he was not at post at the time he was supposed to be,”
Tension between Akunnor and the leadership of the club has been on the rise especially after the coach publicly disagreed the signing of striker Sadick Adams who later left for Libya.
Footballmadeinghana.com understands that the ex Black Stars captain may quit anytime soon to pursue further training in coaching abroad.
