Ashgold's Appiah McCarthy, Anabila Latif, and others are likely to leave the Obuasi based club at the end of the current football season.
This is due to the inability of the club to reach an agreement with the players for them to stay beyond the ongoing season.
The club was reported to have started contract renewal negotiations with the aforementioned players but there has been no progress in terms of the financial details. According to reports the club is a long way off in meeting the demands of the players.
The contract standoff has led to media reports linking some of these players to either Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko with these clubs eager to seize this opportunity to sign these players at the end of the season as free agents.
One of the aforementioned players, Latif Anabila is on record to have said he will play for Kotoko if they approach him with a contract.
“Yes, I will play for them if they express interest, if they want me and speak to my current Club then I will also be willing to join them.”
“Kotoko is a big Club in Ghana here and we know their pedigree even in Africa so I will be ready to join them if only they want me and negotiate with Ashanti Gold,” Anabila said in an interview with the Kumasi based Oyarepa FM on September 21, 2019.
