Aspiring Kotoko Circles Chairman purchases new strike home kits for GHC100K

Christopher Damenya Christopher Damenya

Christopher Damenya, an aspirant national circles chairman of Asante Kotoko has purchased the club new STRIKE home kit for a record price of GHC100,000.00 (1 billion old cedis) at the unveiling ceremony ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

With football activities yet to resume, the Ghana Premier League giants have unveiled their new home kits on Friday at the Manhyia Gardens in Kumasi during which the new three different set of jerseys coloured red, green and white were officially unveiled along with the official presentation of 11 newly signed players to the numerous fans present.

However, Mr Damenya shocked many fans present to the marrow when he stepped up to make the historic donation of GHC100k buy a single replica jersey from Strike, a colossal amount which only dwarfed the previous record held by Ghana Football Association president hopeful Osei Palmer, when he bought Accra Hearts of Oak’s new Umbro replica jersey for GHC20K during the kits unveiling ceremony in Accra last month.

The event was graced by great personalities, including a representative of His Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, King of the Asante kingdom, his honour Professor Kwame Kyei (Executive Chairman – Asante Kotoko), Nana Coker (P.A for Prof. Kwame Kyei), George Amoako (CEO – Asante Kotoko), Edmund Ackah (Accra Rep. – Asante Kotoko), Nana Kwame Dankwah (G/A Circles Chairman) and other management members of the club.

Other present groups were the Kotoko technical team led by head coach Kjetil Zachariassen, the playing body, as well as legends of the club such as 1983 CAF Champions League winning captain Papa Arko (B’Marley), Kwame Poku (former player) etc.
