Prodigious Ghana youth international David Atanga put an imperious display on show by scoring a sensational second-half hat-trick for Liefering in their 5-1 triumph over Kapfenberg on Friday evening.

The 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup Ghana midfielder proved his maturity for big stage challenge by taking charge of the game with a commanding display to register his first goals of the season.

Atanga, 18, contracted the poor attendance of 326 fans at the Untersberg-Arena with an inspiring and eye-catching display which is expected to dominate the headlines among Ghanaian players abroad during the weekend.

The pint-size midfield boss opened his account on the 62nd minute with a brazing free-kick from the edge of the box to put Liefering in first control.

Shortly after scoring his first goal of the season, the former Sogakope Red Bull schoolboy capitalised on a defensive blunders by the visitors to punish them by applying his own impressive dexterity to net his second of the night.

His third was even gilded with a measure of his cardinal abilities as he expertly approached the travelling side’s backline and rounded up the goalkeeper before burying the ball into the net with enviable glee.

Red Bull Salzburg manager Peter Zeidler farmed Atanga back to Liefering – Red Bulls’s feeder club, despite starting the season with the Austrian top-tier title-holders and appearing in the Uefa Champions League for them.

Zeidler could recall the midfielder back into his squad if he keeps his form on the high and improve his game stats.

While he was claiming a hat-trick in the game, his Ghanaian compatriots – Raphael Dwamena and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi both started and completed the game Liefering who have now climbed to third spot in the Liga 1 table.

Dwamena, who scored two weeks ago, assisted the opening for Liefering and was also influential in the game.
