Atomic Keep Fit Club inaugurated

Accra, March 28, GNA - Professor Mike Ocquaye, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has called on keep fit clubs to tackle the issue of sanitation in their communities. He said the issue of sanitation was very crucial in the socio-economic development of every nation and that no association, club, or a citizen would lead a healthy life without tackling sanitation problems.

Prof. Ocquaye, who is the second deputy Speaker of Parliament, made the when inaugurating the Atomic Keep Fit Club at Kwabenya in Accra on Saturday.

He entreated professionals among them to put their expertise at the disposal of the less privileged. He also urged members of the club to take advantage of an Information and Communication Technology centre set up by him in the constituency and upgrade their skills in the sector. Nana Adu-Mankattah II, Chairman of Greater Accra Regional Keep Fit Clubs Association, called on the clubs to unite and fight for a common goal.

Dr Maxwell Aryee, Resident Medical Officer of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, asked members of the club to avoid acts that would bring the club into disrepute. He also urged them to take active interest in physical education to enable them remain healthy at all times. 28 March 09
