Attuquayefio For Hearts Of Oak?

Reports monitored by CITI FM has indicated that the current Management team of Accra Hearts of Oak has recommended to the Board of the club to hire the services of Former Head Coach Jones Attuquayefio for the next season until a substantive Coach is named.

The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak has handed an official l! etter to Head Coach Sanzio Bahner stating that they will not renew the one-year contract they have with him which is due to end in December, 2005.

The Head Coach has been under consistent pressure since taking over on the 30th of June this year following the sudden death of former Coach Ofei Ansah, who died in the line of duty.

There had been earlier reports that the Coach will not even end the season with the club but the Management declared then that he will be their helmsman till the end of the season after which it will be decided as to whether he will continue with the club.

A source close to the Management affirmed that the Management decided to re! commend Jones Attuquayefio since he is the only man who can bring the team back to winning ways after their form slumped this season placing them second on the league table behind Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The Management after a marathon meeting decided unanimously to dispense with the services of the German, whose performance has been described as a below average performance.

The Management is expected to pay his December salary with immediate effect after which they will thank him for his services.

Meanwhile, Sanzio Bahner told CITI FM this morning that no letter to that effect has been given him, insisting that he has been informed that the issue of his continued stay at the club will be thoroughly discussed after the club?s Congress which will take place on Saturday.

Sanzio Bahner was the Head Coach of Kumasi based King Faisal before taking over the position at Hearts of Oak.

His coaching career in Ghana has not been rosy at all with Faisal also terminating his contract when he was their Head Coach during the 2003-2004 season.

His first game for Hearts of Oak was on the 1st of July during the President?s Republic Day cup where the team lost by a lone goal to Asante Kotoko. He lost the following week when the second round of the league begun away to Real Tamale United at the Kaladan Park.
