Austin FC coach Josh Wolff praised Ghana winger Osman Bukari for his performance on his debut in Major League Soccer on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Bukari, who started the match and played 58 minutes, made his first appearance for Austin in their 2-2 draw against Charlotte FC, having recently joined from Red Star Belgrade in Serbia this summer.

Speaking in a post-game press conference, Wolff highlighted Bukari's contribution despite not having had a preseason with the team.

"I think Buka (Osman Bukari), again, has some qualities that are going to unbalance. I think right away he gave some change of speed, he certainly got around the corner a couple of times and I think Gyasi (Zardes) is on the end of it. If he takes it well, it’s a fantastic start to the game, but all in all, I thought he did well."

Wolff emphasized Bukari's potential and the positive impact he can have on the team as he gets more familiar with his teammates and the club's playing style.

"I think the more he gets familiar with the group and the more the group gets familiar with him and kind of his unique qualities, the better it will be."

Bukari is in line to feature in Austin’s next game on July 27 in the Leagues Cup. His debut performance has set a positive tone for his tenure at Austin FC, and both the coach and fans are looking forward to seeing how he integrates with the team and enhances their attacking options in the future.
