Saif Rubie, the agent of Avram Grant, has taken a swipe at the Ghanaian sports media following criticisms regarding Avram Grant’s decision to hand striker Kwesi Appiah a starting role against Guinea in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash on Sunday.
After the former Chelsea and Israel trainer pleased most Ghanaian fans by dropping misfiring Jordan Ayew from the Black Stars starting line-up against the Syli Nationale, the mantle fell on Crystal Palace attacker.
But some Ghanaian sports journalists were quick to link Grant’s decision to start Kwasi Appiah to reports that both the Coach and the player are managed by the same agency, Future Gen Sports and Luxury.
“Ghana media/websites when you guys are ready for me to teach you about football, let me know. #youknowwhoyouare #stoptalkingrubbish #haters,” Rubie posted on his Official Twitter page.
However, Appiah justified his selection in the first eleven by scoring in the 3-0 rout of Guinea to help Ghana reach the semi-finals of the AFCON 2015.
The England-born goal-poacher is thrilled to have scored on his full Black Stars debut and also emerge the man of the match.
“WOW! Full debut for Ghana. Amazing victory, delighted to have scored and to get MOM!!! (Man of the Match),” Appiah posted on his official Twitter account after the last eight clash.
