Awal Mohammed delighted with debut show for Al Shabab

Ghana defender Awal Mohammed says he is satisfied with his performance for Al Shabab on his debut against Asamoah Gyan’s Al Ain in the Asian Champions League.

The former Maritzburg United man was credited for keeping danger man and his international teammate Gyan at bay.

Mohammed dealt with the challenge with ease, and his confidence should delight his new employers.

The 26-year-old was excellent with his reading of the game and dominated the aerial battle, restricting Gyan to long distance shots.

“It was a good game with a lot of intensity which I am very satisfied with my performance,” he told GHANASoccernet.com

“I am very happy the way [the] game went and I have to credit my colleagues who have aided me to settle in well.

“We are turning our attention to the next game after this impressive point.”

Both Awal and Gyan were members of Ghana’s AFCON squad which finished second in the just Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
