Centre-back Awal Mohammed believes he is ready to replicate his performance against Togo for this month’s double AFCON qualifier.
The Maritzburg United defender earned rave reviews when handed a starting role in the absence of injured John Boye in the 3-2 win against Togo in Lome.
Mohammed formed a formidable partnership with Jonathan Mensah which helped blunt Togo captain Emmanuel Adebayor.
The ex-Kotoko defender is now aware that more will be expected of him in the game against Guinea and says he is ready to meet heightened expectations.
“I know that there will be expectation on me but if you have followed my career you will release I excel when expectations are on me,” Awal told GHANASoccernet.com.
“I will do my best given the opportunity.
“At the end of the day the most important thing is that Ghana gets all the three important points.”
