Ayew: Ghana will reach World Cup semis

Marseille winger Andre Ayew believes Ghana will be the first African country to reach the semi-finals of the Fifa World Cup.

The Stade Velodromme talisman is bullish that the Black Stars have all it takes to go a step further by reaching the last four at Brazil 2014.

“I want the Ghanaian team to become the first African team to advance to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Brazil,” Ayew told Ad-hoc.de.

“In South Africa, we were unlucky in the last eight but this Black Stars is a new one and we are targeting the last four.”

Ayew, who has been phenomenal for Ghana since making his senior debut against Senegal in 2007, is one of the key players coach Kwesi Appiah will count on at the Mundial.

Ghana are in the same group with US, Germany and Portugal.
