Ayew: No automatic places in Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko player Rahim Ayew has mentioned that every player in the present Kotoko setup is fighting for a position adding that there are no automatic places in the team.

Kotoko grabbed both the First Capital Plus League as well as the FA Cup last season and are looking to repeat that feat, as well as give a good account of themselves in the CAF Champions League.

“There no automatic places in Kotoko because the coaches want all of us to work hard. Maybe when the season proper starts we shall see who gets into the starting XI , but for now, the competition is so huge that we are all fighting to impress the coaches”, Rahim told sportscrusader.com

Rahim, son of the maestro Abedi Pele, joined Kotoko during the second transfer window last season and managed to break into the team making an impressive amount of outings for the Porcupine Warriors.

For Rahim, maintaining his present form until the league commences is very crucial.

“There is word out there that I came in during the second round yet managed to get the same medals with those who started the season with Kotoko.”

“It is true. I want to prove myself more and show them that I deserved every inch of those two medals I won”, the determined Rahim added.
