Ghana midfielders Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew were not present on Monday when their French club Marseille started their pre-season training.
The duo was expected to have joined the club’s first day of the season having ended their summer holidays in Accra on Friday.
Their absence coincided with Marseille’s announcement of the departure of coach Didier Deschamps who left the club by mutual consent.
Andre’s absence could spark fresh rumours about his possible exit from the club.
Rumours have linked the 22-year-old with moves to some of Europe's top clubs, especially after he recently changed agent.
It was thought the move could spark him leaving the club before pre-season but he left Accra on Friday night to ensure he is fit and sound for the rigorous pre-season sessions.
Also missing Marseille’s pre-season training is his brother Jordan Ayew who has been linked with a loan move to St. Etienne.
Enjoying life at his club, Andre Ayew will only consider a move when he receives the perfect and most beneficial offer.
"To be linked with fantastic teams all over the world is flattering and appealing to me, but it is all speculation,” Ayew said.
"If I do leave one day, it will be with the blessing of everyone here," concluded the BBC 2011 African footballer of the year.
Marseille will close their training sessions to the public on Monday and Tuesday.
