Ghana internationals Andre and Jordan Ayew have promised to play their hearts out to help the Black Stars defeat Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, according to their uncle Sola Ayew.

The brothers have been away from international duties since September 2017 but have reportedly been called back by coach Kwesi Appiah for the penultimate game against the Walias in Addis Ababa on November 18.

"The coming back of the Ayew brothers to the national team is a welcome news for the family. We have already advised them to give their best against Ethiopia," Sola told Oyerepa FM.

"They have also assured that they will not disappoint. They want to do everything within their capacity to help the coach and the country succeed. Qualification to the Afcon next year is important to the family now and they are ready to prove their worth," he said.

"Their father [Abedi 'Pele' Ayew] was able to win the Afcon for Ghana and we want them to also win a major trophy for the nation. Although Andre led the Black Satellites to lift the 2009 Fifa U-20 World Cup, that is seen as a junior level competition" he added.

The official 23-man squad for the game is expected to be announced this week although players have already received their air tickets for the trip. Goal understands that the Black Stars will pitch camp in Kenya on November 15 before travelling to Ethiopia two days later.

Ghana sit third in Group F with three points, four points behind leaders Kenya.
