Former Ghana and Aston Villa striker Nii Odartey Lamptey says Andre Ayews exploits in 2015 makes it very difficult to overlook him as the continents best player.
Ayew, has been named among the final three-man shortlist for the 2015 African Player of the Year award.
The Swansea City star will slug it out with Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast for Africa’s top football award.
But Nii Odartey Lamptey who played for Aston Villa in 1995 says the Ghana international deserves the nomination due to his consistency this year.
“Ayew for me is by far the best player at the moment and he deserves all he is getting at the moment,” Odartey told Accra based CITI-FM
“He is very young and talented and I would not be surprised if he picks the award next year.”
