Ayew fires warning to Lyon ahead of Sunday clash

Ghana international Andre Ayew is already looking forward to the game against Olympique Lyonnais this Sunday at the Stade Gerland.

Marseille have gone six matches unbeaten and in all they have lost one and drawn one in their eight Ligue 1 games this season.

Marseille won 2-0 against Toulouse last weekend with goals from Nicolas Nkoulou and Andre-Pierre Gignac and Ayew insists they are ready for Lyon tomorrow.

“What was important was to win against Toulouse at home,” Ayew told beIN Sports. “We know that a very important match awaits us Sunday. It was very important to win this game here. We did it in style. We are very happy. Now we have to recover because we were tired in the second period.”

He added: “We are ready to face Lyon. When I see the happy Marseille fans of this kind, I am very happy and very proud of what we are doing right now. But as we have said from the beginning, this is only the beginning of the season, there are still a lot of game.

“The important thing is to keep this pace, the mood and really work for each other to continue to take points.”
