Andre Ayew and his Fenerbahçe team will play in the Europa League after dropping from the final qualifying round of the Champions League to Benfica.

The Ghana forward played the full throttle as the Turkish giants crashed out of Europe’s elite competition before their home fans with a 1-1 on Tuesday night.

With a1-0 deficit to make up for from the first leg, Fenerbahçe’s woes were further complicated when they fell behind to a 26th minute strike Gedson Fernandes.

But the hosts gave themselves a massive chance with a 45th minute equalizer through Alper Potuk.

Fenerbahçe pilled on the pressure thereafter but couldn’t find the net as Benfica held on to secure their place in Champions League while the Turkish giants settle for a place in the Europa League.
