Andre Ayew’s agent Mark McKay says he is surprised his client is still with Swansea City amid huge interest from Sunderland.
The 26-year-old winger was linked with a move to the Stadium of Light in a reported £10 million plus striker Fabio Borini deal but Swansea were reluctant to release the Ghana international.
“I’m surprised Andre is still at Swansea in a way. Time is running out though if they are to try to sign him by Monday,” McKay told Daily Mail.
“Sam Allardyce, a manager I have great respect for, made a very good proposal but Swansea have been determined to keep him,” he added.
Ayew joined Swansea from French side Marseille as a free agent last season and has become the club's brightest spot despite their relegation struggles.
He won the English Premier League player of the month of July and has scored eight goals so far this season.
