Ayew to consider all offers – Abedi Pele

Abedi Pele has revealed that there are no guarantees that his son Andre Ayew will remain at Olympique Marseille beyond the end of his contract when it expires this summer.

The Ghana international’s current deal runs until the end of June, and his father has acknowledged that nothing should be taken for granted.

“I have always been at the centre of talks,” the former OM star began, speaking to LaProvence.com.

“We are going to put all of the offers proposed to us on the table, but we won’t forget one key thing: Andre is here today thanks to Marseille.

“So, the first offer to consider is the one from Marseille.”

Abedi Pele went on to indicate that while an extended stay at the Stade Velodrome would be preferable, it was up to Marseille to make a favourable offer.

“It’s the life of a footballer to dream of going to another level,” he continued, “ but in the case of Andre, he is the child of the club. It’s important to be objective: he is loved and he does a good job at Marseille.

“It’s OM’s proposition that he needs to consider first.”

Finally the Ghana great intimated that Ayew would not be lured away from his boyhood club purely on the premise of Champions League football.

“His dream is to win the league. Of course, after that, it is implied that you play in the Champions League.”

Ayew joined Marseille as a youth team player in 2005 before making his Ligue 1 debut against Valenciennes as a second-half substitute in 2007. He is yet to win the French championship with OM and was a defeated finalist with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

As noted by Goal Ghana, Everton and Inter Milan have both been linked with a move for the Black Stars playmaker.
