Ghana boxing legend Prof. Azumah Nelson begins a nationwide tour to educate and inspire high school students to aspire for greatness in the programme dubbed “Time With The Professor”.
Time with the Professor will see the iconic boxing figure interact with selected students in the various schools across four regions in the country.
The three-time world champion will share his life experiences with the young ones while encouraging them to change their mindset, all in a bid to make them successful people in their future chosen endeavours.
Professor Azumah Nelson will set his tour in motion with his first trip to the Ashanti Region on Thursday June 25 where he will interact with over 2000students from selected High Schools at the Kumasi Anglican School.
He will then move to the Central Region where Aggrey Memorial A.M.E Zion School will play host to the iconic world figure on Tuesday June 30. Students from Mfantsipim School, Ghana National College, Adisadel College, St Augustine’s College, Mfantsiman Girls and Wesley Girls amongst others will converge at the auditorium of Aggrey Memorial School to hear the inspirational talk from the boxing figure.
The boxing great and his entourage will travel to the Eastern Region for a similar exercise where Koforidua Secondary Technical School (KSTS) will serve as the venue for the memorable occasion on Thursday July 2.
Presbyterian Boys Senior High School –Legon, will host schools in the Greater Accra region on Thursday July 9 where several students are expected to be mentored by the revered boxing great to wrap up the tour.
Azumah Nelson rose from obscurity to international fame as a result of determination, focus, character, discipline and mental fortitude amongst other traits and these and more are what he intends to share with the young generation Educational scholarships will be handed out to students during the one-month period. He will be accompanied on the tour by counselors of the Ghana Education Service and other high ranking officials.
