B/A United's Life Patron Reacts To The Dissolved Boards Claim

Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, Omanhene of Sunyani and also the Life Patron of Brong Ahafo United Football Club, has reacted strongly to a news item carried on Ghanaweb, to the effect that the affairs of Management has been taken over by an Interim Management Committee(IMC), appointed by the dissolved Board of Directors of the Club.

In a statement, issued from his Palace, the life Patron reiterated his decision to temporarily dissolve the Board of Directors as irrevocable, and urged the football fraternity to continue to do business with Mr. Osei-Bonsu’s Management. “How can a Board which I appointed in my capacity as Life Patron and dissolved by me be refused to be dissolved” he quizzed.

He also used the opportunity to call on pressmen, especially one Kingsley E. Hope of the Ghanaian Times to be circumspect in their reportage, as they have the potential of destabilising the great club.

According to the Omanhene, the time has come for B/A United to grow, and the performance of the Club in the just ended-premier League offered a positive indicator that the one-time Apostles of Power Soccer are on the path of recapturing its past glory. Nana recounted in 1999 when the Club was firmly locked at bottom position, and was heading for relegation to the then second division, it took the untiring efforts of Zico and his young Management to salvage the dwindling fortunes of the Club, by miraculously gaining qualification into the premiership.

In those difficult times, in the annals of the Club, no big-men were ready to help. Now, the Young men are gaining fame and popularity for their hard-work and instead of being offered the needed push, they are being crucified by people who neglected B/A United in hard times.

Nana Bosoma, dismissed claims by detractors of Mr. Osei-Bonsu and his Management, that they have not rendered accounts of their stewardship. In his own words, the accounts of the Club as submitted by the Executive Chairman, and fully audited by a Kumasi-based Chartered Accountant, BOB & ASSOCIATES is the best in the history of the B/A United F/C , and must be appreciated by the so-called big-men who would want to illegally take over the affairs of the Club.

He cautioned followers of B/A United not to forget the painful exit of Mr. Kumi Acheaw, one-time Chairman of the Club, under the same bizarre circumstance leading to an unprecedented expedition into the soccer wilderness until, Mr. Osei-Bonsu and his young Management came to the rescue. To him, the pull-him-down days are over and people must give encouragement where it is due.
