Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association, Samuel Anim Addo has disclosed that the FA has adopted a plan to involve the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) in monitoring the performances of referees in the Ghana League.

According to the ExCo member the action was taken following President Akufo-Addo’s task to the Ghana FA to do its best to restore sanity into the game at the Meet the Press Series held early December.

Speaking on the sidelines of the GFA Congress, Anim Addo revealed that the FA is committed to fulfilling the President’s task hence the need to involve the BNI in its activities. He further added that the FA will not shield any match official and club administrator found guilty of influencing games.

“The President mentioned it so we are going to engage the BNI and club administrators,” Anim Addo told SVTV Africa.

He added, “Officials will be monitored 24/7, so if you are a club official and you are caught to be influencing a match official, you are done.” In the same vain he also added that, “If you are a referee and you are found engaging a club official just to influence the game, you are done.”

Anim Addo also vowed to be the lead campaigner in restoring sanity in the league since it will go a long way to convince corporate Ghana to sponsor the Ghana Premier League.

“I will make sure that I champion this each and every day so that we can bring sanity into the game, win the integrity and get corporate Ghana to support us. We can get so many people or companies to support us, even non-governmental organizations to support the FA,” Anim Addo concluded.
