Baba Adam: Ayew injury not serious

Black Stars team Doctor, Baba Adam, has allayed fears that stand-in captain, Andre Dede Ayew’s latest injury is not as serious as feared initially.

Ayew failed to shine against the Cranes of Uganda after an earlier injury blighted his performance in the penultimate match on Saturday.

Assessing the injury right after the game, doctor Baba stated that Ayew will need a day off before he could start training since the degree of injury is not as serious as it was feared.

“We thought that the injury was going to be serious and that was why we pulled him off, but after assessing him we saw that it was not as serious as we thought.”

“He will need a day to relax the legs and see if he can train, I’m hopeful that he will be able to shake off the injury and play for the team on Wednesday.”

Ghana faces anxious time if Andre Ayew fails to recover on time for the Black Stars’ game against the Hawks of Togo on Wednesday in Tamale.
