Real Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu Mohammed committed a penalty in their 2-0 defeat against Sevilla in the Spanish LaLiga on Saturday morning.

Sevilla were shot in front by a miscued header from Diego Carlos on the 20th-minute mark after largely dominating the opening period.

In the 63rd minute, fans at the Estadio de San Moix went wild after referee Jesus Gil Manzano awarded a foul to Sevilla following a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) consultation. The centre official was prompted by an early challenge from Baba on Munir El Haddadi.

Argentine midfielder Ever Banega beautifully buried the ball in the top corner to give the visitors a 2-0 win.

Baba was replaced with Aleix Febas in the 78th minute of game.

His compatriot and teammate Lumor Agbenyenu, however, played full throttle but Baba Rahman — who made a return from injury in their midweek win against El Àlamo in the Copa del Rey — was left out of the matchday squad.
