Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has yet again lauded his senior brother Baffour Gyan for playing a pivotal role in his football career.

Gyan, currently in town for the Christmas holidays, attributed his huge success to his brother, who is also referred to as ‘Warrior’.

To the former Sunderland/Rennes hitman, almost all the decisions he had taken which had yielded dividends were due to the wise counsel of ‘Baf’, a former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko star.

The Shanghai SIPG forward said after being voted the Sports Personality of the Year award at this year’s Ghana Sports Fans Award that “Baffour, you know, is my back bone. All the decisions I have made in my career have come from him.

“I owe him a lot of appreciation. People like George Afriyie and co have also been there for me during my trying moments.

“But I can say I am a happy man now. I have achieved all I want to in my career as a footballer.”

Gyan, 30, has left good footprints for club and country, making 93 appearances for Ghana and hitting the back of the net a record 48 times.
