Basketball: Braves Down Postel

Braves of CEPS yesterday beat POSTEL of Benin in an international friendly game played at Lebanon House, Accra. The game started with Braves' forward Sulley getting 8 quick points before any of his teammates scored. Although the game seemed erratic with both teams turning the ball over and shooting too early, CEPS had the advantage of home cooking. The first half ended with the home team having a 12-point advantage.

In the third quarter, an altercation occurred which almost marred the game. Postel's center had earlier in the game brought the house down with a rebound dunk. So when he pinned his defender on an excellent entry pass and pivoted towards the rim for an obvious dunk, CEPS center AMUZU, stepped in and gave him a hard foul. This incident resulted in the game being held up for about 10 minutes.

The game resumed after officials of both teams had settled their differences and like magic, CEPS guards starting hitting the target on shots they were earlier missing. Dodzi and Paapa hit three after three to open up the deficit to 30 points.

The game ended 88 - 59.
