The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to attend this year’s Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace and Unity Cup match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kpando Heart of Lions.

The match, which is set to take place at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, seeks to foster unity and peace among the people within Greater Accra ahead of the December 7 polls.

Ahead of the match, Nii Ayi Bonte II extended an invitation to the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, when he paid a visit to the Gbese Mantse Palace.

Meanwhile, Abdul Mannaf Sowah and Alfred Kotey Ashie, the leading parliamentary candidates of the Odododiodio Constituency, have pledged to purchase tickets for fans to attend the match.

The Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup is expected to commemorate the Homowo celebrations, empower the youth, and unite fans of the leading political parties.

Hearts of Oak’s Head Coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has expressed his unwavering confidence in his team’s ability to beat their opponents.

However, Heart of Lions’ head coach, Bashir Hayford, is in high spirits about his team’s capabilities in winning the title.
