Infantino cautions FA chiefs to be servants of the game Infantino cautions FA chiefs to be servants of the game

Gianni Infantino, President of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), has called on heads of the Football Association (FA) in Africa to be servants in line of their duties and not masters.

Some African FA leaders have been accused of been autocratic in line with their duties and coupled with their often long stay in office has seen such heads brandished as ‘corrupt’.

The former Union of European Football Association (UEFA) General Secretary at the press briefing organised ad held by the Ghana Football Association called on all FA presidents on the African continent to act as servants and not to be served.

“We are here to serve football not the other way round and it must be clear in our head, we are here for a limited time to do our best for the game and after somebody else need to take over to give his or her best for the game,” he told the press.

Yesterday, Infantino paid a courtesy call on the President of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo at the seat of Government, the FlagStaff House, before meeting behind closed-doors Executives of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
