Beach Soccer clubs show improved form

Three games out of five on match day four of the ongoing cal bank beach soccer league failed to produce winners but ensured the only sides with unblemished records, Wuo Gb333 and defending champions’ Keta sunset sports were breached even though they still remain unbeaten.

Wuo gb33 were the first to bite the dust of dropping points as the inform Ada Assurance held them to a four all draw. Ada Assurance were bent on going top of the table ,and their performance confirmed their ambition, as Razak Odamitten''s brace shot them early into the lead, but it took red hot Joseph Larweh under 12mins to help his team rally from behind into the lead with his hat trick. Two goals from Osei Richard and Shadrack Adams put Ada assurance back in font, but the blushes of Wuo gb33 were saved by Dosoo Osei's late equalizer.

Defending champions Keta sunset sports were next to suffer heartbreak as their purple patch was brought to a grand halt by a rather determined Layoca side. Layoca who have looked a dispirited side all season shot themselves into the lead, against the run of play courtesy Ofori Isaac’s brace in the opening minutes of the game. It took sunset sports a strong show of character and losing a man in the process to rescue a point through efforts of Awuntey Senyo and Micheal Sema right at the depth. Despite dropping points the Keta side still remain top of the standings.

Havedji Mighty Warrior’s irregular start to the season continued unabated, dropping 2 points in an 8 goal thriller with Dansoman bsc. The resurgent Dansoman side stunned Havedji in the first period with a brace from striker Odartey Lamptey, but the response from Havedji had all the urgency required culminating in hat trick by Aziz kofi. Dansoman continued to show promise in the dying embers of the game and were duly rewarded with Sackey Solomon's brace, but the hope of picking all points was shuttered by torsu Alfred's goal .

In other championship games, a brace by Goli bright and a goal each from Mumuni Abdul and Gokah David ensured Tegbi youth snatched all three points at the expense of East legon sharks to move into the top four. The troubled Sharks's consolation came through goals from Cesar Sohu and Richard Amoh. Teshie United came up tops in the battle of the debutants, recording their first win in the top flight to move out of the relegation bracket for now. Konney Ishmael’s brace was enough to see Nungua bsc off despite their solitary goal through Ebenezer Laryea.

In division 1, a win in a 12 goal thriller ensured league leaders, Gulf Powers consolidated their top spot on the standings. Kwevi Fredrick proved a mouthful for the defense of Golden Eagles, and their inability to find a way round the prolific attacker resulted in his breaching of their goal mouth 4 times to shoot Powers in the lead. Their misery was compounded by a brace each from Sekyi Wilson and Botchway Francis but the Eagles showed some resilience in pulling four goals back through Junior Tornado s brace and goals from Robert Abloh and Obodai Smaila.

Debutants Cape Coast warriors inflicted a painful 3-2 defeat on the high flying Chorkor Blue Whales pushing them further down the log. Three expertly struck goals from Asante John ,Mensah Gideon, and Alhassan Samed knocked the stuffing out of the favourites Blue whales. The anticipated come back was well fashioned out by the whales but was incomplete as a brace from in form Nadar Habib failed to rescue even a point.

Elsewhere Nima sent Winneba giants to the cleaners, beating them 7-2 in the process, to continue the baptism of fire for the debutants. The gulfing class was vast and came as no surprise when hat tricks from Tetteh Traore and Mohammed Awal put the green boys in an unassailable lead. Essibu kaligo made it 7 for Nima and that elicited a rather mild response from the Giants who found two goals courtesy Atawabi Prince and Dagadu Osah.

African angels stunned Senya sharks 4-2 to cement their position in the top four and continue their push for promotion. Goals from Laryea Ibrahim and Brown Evans and a brace from George Kennedy nullified Senya sharks bright moments from Akorful Philip and Kodjo Bonney.

Tema united were handed all three points as Osu dolphins failed to show up for their game wrapping up an exciting match day in the cal bank beach soccer league.

Match day 5 continues on Saturday 22nd December 2012 at the La Beach Soccer Arena.
