Bechem Traditional Council to confer chieftaincy title on Okrah

Newly crowned Ghana Premier League goal king Augustine Okrah will be honoured by the Bechem Traditional Council with a chieftaincy title.

The 20-year-old’s 16-goal display has been described as “a remarkable performance with special place in the history of the Ghana Premier League.”

The Omanhene Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II will use his stool to name him ‘Nana Semanhyia’.

A delegation of imminent persons from the Ahafo area of the Brong Ahafo will visit the player’s parents in Kwapia, a village near Obuasi, to express gratitude for their son’s contribution to the club.

Then the club will visit Manhyia Palace to present Okrah’s SWAG Best Premier League Player award to its chief patron, the Asantehene.

The chiefs and people will then crown the celebration with a grand durbar and a ceremonial football match.

Okrah scored a staggering 20 goals this season, scoring or contributing to +90% of all goals scored by Bechem United.
