A battle of will saw Bechem United U17 qualify for the quarterfinal of the famed Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup against a fired Golden State FC from the desserts of California in a 1:1 draw game that had fans sitting on tenterhooks.

Coach Freddie Etsiakoh made three changes to his starting 11 on a cold drizzling morning.
Hope Avayevu’s only goal for Bechem came when Nii Obaka Torto got a through pass to the left and crossed the ball low to Hope who placed the ball low to the left corner of the net.
Coach Etsiakoh, acknowledged, that bad weather conditions passed a role in the final results but was satisfied with the final results because it invariably secured the team a place in the quaterfinals. He beseeched Ghanaians to continue to support the team.
After the match, Obed Asare, central defender said it was a tough game but the strong fighting team spirit earned them the qualifications.
Hope Avayevu who has 4 goals to his name so far in the tournament thanked his teammates for their resilience and thanked Ghanaians for their support.
Bechem’s prospective opponents in the next stage of the tournament are yet to be determined as their quarterfinal match is scheduled to played on Friday.
If they qualify, they sequel into the semi finals for Saturday and Hopefully to the Ultimate duel scheduled for Sunday…
