Bechem United to appoint Swedish coach

Ghana Premier League outfit Bechem United are in close talks to fill their vacant head coach position with FIFA licensed gaffer Swede Tom Strand, footyGhana has confirmed.

Information gathered by FootyGhana indicates that the Swede has been assisting Akosombo-based Golden Boot Soccer Academy as coach and a go-between for Ghanaian players who are invited for trials in Europe.

The Chairman of Golden Boot Academy with the nickname “Prof” who accompanied the Swede to Bechem for contractual talks says they hope the deal will be finalised by close of Sunday.

“We are in Bechem and having close negotiations with officials of the club. Everything is positive at the moment and hope to seal a deal hopefully after the FA Cup game on Sunday,” ‘Prof’ revealed to footyGhana exclusively.

Bechem who have had Kassim Mingle in an acting capacity in the last three games since the departure of Serb Milislav Bogdanovic to Aduana Stars, are confident both parties would reach an agreement soon.

The club’s owner and bankroller Kingsley Owusu-Achiaw tells footy-Ghana.com: “I had not wanted to disclose this deal till everything is through because everything is not finalised with regards to documents. However, I am confident we will have thecoach from Sweden take over during the recess of the Premier League.”

Strand who is already familiar with the Ghanaian football terrain joined the team in training on Wednesday morning.
