Bekoe voted best Kotoko striker of the decade

A survey conducted by Ghanasoccernet.com has revealed that Eric Bekoe is the best Kotoko striker over the last ten years beating Ivorian import Ahmed Toure by 10 votes.

Bekoe beat competition from Ivory Coast-based Burkinabe striker Ahmed Toure and former strikers of the club Nana Arhin Duah and Alex Asamoah.

During to the survey fifty sports journalists were randomly selected all over the country to choose their best and favourite eleven players of the Porcupine Warriors since 2005.

In all, fifty teams of eleven players each were created by these journalists and the most frequently appearing players were selected as the best for the club.

Eric Bekoe who scored 17 goals in the 2007/08 One Touch Premier League appeared 27 times in the list representing 54% of the total number of journalist while Ahmed Toure appeared 15 times, ten times short of what Bekoe had, representing 30% of the total number of journalists who submitted their squads.

Nana Arhin Duah came third behind Ahmed Toure appearing 6 times in the list representing 12% while Alex Asamoah appeared two times in the list representing just 4%.

Other strikers like Kofi Nti Boakye and his elder brother Isaac Boakye could not even make it into the top four best strikers of Kotoko over the ten year period.
