Ghana Forward and former Dallas Mavericks man Ben Bentil has been a driving force behind Champagne Chalons Reims rise to fourth place in the French League Pro A. The 2016 NBA Draftee top scored for the side with 19 points leading the Northern French side to clinch an 89-79 win over Limoges on Friday.

The win is Reims fourth of the season in six games which has the team tied with nine teams in the standings on six points in the division.

Teams like ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbarne, Nanterre, Dijon are tied with Reims in a jam packed race for the top four behind league leaders Le Mans; Antibes Sharks take on Le Mans later tonight.

Following a big offseason where Bentil and 2016 Pro B Coach of the Year Cedric Heitz signed to the club, Reims is cashing in on the added talent on the court and bench to surpass last season’s mark.

Reims missed relegation to the second tier by a whisker last season by placing 16th in the 18 team division. Sekondi-born Bentil has made several stops in his short professional career including a two month stint in China.
