Berekum Chelsea can cope without clottey - Jordan Opoku

Berekum Chelsea midfielder Jordan Opoku is confident the club can thrive without striker Emmanuel Clottey.

The 25-year-old sealed a three-year deal with Tunisian giants Esperance last week after impressing heavily for the 2010 Ghanaian champions.

There are many who feel the absence of the goal-getter could hurt their ambitions of reclaiming the Premier League crown from Asante Kotoko.

But the ex-Kotoko enforcer believes they can survive without him.

“He (Clottey) had done his part and that’s why he got the deal. I believe we can cope without him,”Opoku said

“We play like a unit without relying on any individual. That is the reason why we got to the group phase of the Caf Champions League.

“The club has bought some quality players and so there is no need to panic at all,”

Opoku scored Chelsea’s only goal as they coasted to a solitary 1-0 win over TP Mazembe in their final group game on Sunday.
