Ghana forward Bernard Tekpetey got his season off to a bright start after netting his second goal of the campaign in the second round of qualifiers in the UEFA Champions League.

The 26-year-old scored the opener as Bulgarian champions Ludogorets defeated Dinamo Minsk in the first leg of their Champions League clash.

Tekpetey weave his way into the box before curling home to give the Green Eagles the lead after nine minutes.

Todor Nedelev doubled the lead at the stroke of half-time as Ludogorets secured a 2-0 win at home before their trip to Belarus for the second leg.

Tekpetey has now scored two goals in three matches since the start of competitive football this season.

Although there are reports linking him away from the Bulgarian giants in the summer transfer window, the ex-Schalke attacker seems focused on the new campaign.

Meanwhile, Swiss-Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Duah returned to the club this week but was unnamed in the squad for last night's game following an extended break after Euro 2024.
