Beware Meteors - Zambian Sports broadcaster warns

Soccer gurus have been struggling to find appropriate adjective to describe the crucial encounter involving Ghana Black Meteors and the Young Chipolopolo of Zambia. Whilst some gurus have dubbed it ?a decider?, others have called it? a cliff-hanger?. Yet another School of thought call it ?do or die battle? among other things.

In an exclusive chat with SPACE FM this morning, Maria Banda of Radio Choice in Zambia told Kwabena Kyere Stugard that the Zambians, under the technical headship of Kalusha Bwalya is leaving no stone unturned in their quest to snatch victory from the Ghanaians.

She said the team is highly motivated to win at least a point which is enough to see them to Athens. Among other things, the president of the country has promised each player a whooping $1000 per player if they won the ticket to Athens. The Zambian Electricity Corporation has supported the team with $3500.

According to Maria Banda, morale in camp is very high having defeated Algeria to top the group which has South Africa as the other member of the group. One significant morale boosting news to the Zambian contingent is the unexpected recuperation of danger-man Collins Mbesuma from an injury he sustained a couple of weeks ago, which is a major fillip to the squad. The expectant Zambian fans are full of optimism that their darling team would scale over Ghana.

Ghana and Zambia share the top spot with 10 points apiece but the latter leads on superior goal difference.
