Ghana’s U23 side the Black Meteors whipped Division One League side Okyeman Planners in a friendly on Saturday morning at the Presec Park as they intensify their preparations for the U23 AFCON qualifier.

Two second half strikes by WAFA striker Daniel Lomotey and Ernest Awinoh gave the Ghana U23 side the win over the Tafo-based club.

A beautiful deep pass from Awudu Tahiru was nicely chipped over the Okyeman Planners goalie to break the deadlock on the 55th minute.

Caleb Amankwah’s tailor-measured pass was excellently headed home by Ernest Adiwoh five minutes to end the game to leave the final score at 2-0.

A solid first half performance by Okyeman Planners left the Black Meteors pushing endlessly for the opener but were fruitless.

Okyeman Planners threw more men upfront chasing the opener after the break creating lots of scoring opportunities for the Ghana U23 side.

Enoch Afful was gifted with a sumptuous opportunity to restore parity when he beat the offside trap with Ayi at his mercy but his thunderous drive went over the bar.

The high pressing Planners side had a penalty when in the dying embers of the game when Caleb Amankwah brought down Edmund Asiedu but Dela Rio’s bizarre spot kick went wayward.

This is the third preparatory game the Ghana U23 have won since they started their preparations.
