Black Princesses head coach, Yusif Basigi has cited lack of food, as the main reason why the team haven’t started preparations towards the 2018 Women’s World Cup (WWC).

The Princesses completed a fifth successive qualification to the tournament after recording a 4-1 aggregate win over Cameroon.

The female U-20 team will open their 2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup campaign against hosts France on Sunday, 5 August, 2018.

In an interview on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite Show, Coach Basigi expressed concern given the short time they have to prepare for the tournament.

“We are waiting for green light before we can start camping but the truth is time is not on our side”.

“Per our arrangement with the GFA, we were supposed to start camping about a month ago, unfortunately that has not been the case”

“The main reason why we are not in camp is because there is no food available for the girls to eat at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence”, he added.

“The FA was supposed to arrange with a caterer to cater for the team in camp but as I speak to you now that has not been done”.

The 2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup will run from 5-24 August.
