Head coach of the Black Queens of Ghana, Nora Hauptle, has disclosed that her team will go into the friendly match with Japan with a smart plan.

Speaking to the press ahead of the high-profile international friendly on Friday, July 12, Coach Nora Hauptle said the plan is for the Black Queens to use the friendly match to improve.

“We know Japan were World Champions in 2011 and are currently ranked number seven in the world. For us, this is a high-class team. The opposition they provide is exactly what we want to improve in different areas such as ball possession.

“We also need to be smart in defense because Japan is very excellent on the ball in good transitioning moments, and they observe their opponents very well. We will present a smart game plan by trying to surprise our opponents a little bit, and we are really going to see how we end tomorrow’s game,” Coach Nora Hauptle said.

The Black Queens of Ghana will take on Japan on Saturday, July 13.

The game will be played at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium.
