The female national Volley Ball team, The Black Spikers, made a dream start to their World Cup qualifiers in Abidjan with a resounding 3-1 victory over host nation, Cote D’Ivoire.
The rampant Spikers eased their way to the contested points at the expense of the Ivorians in the second phase of the 2018 FIVA World Cup qualifiers.
With Niger failing to make the trip to Abidjan, the Ghanaians only needed to avoid an opening day defeat to avoid early exit and they did just that.
A promising start to the game culminated in an eventual 3-1 winner for the rampant Spikers.
The high flying Ghanaian Ladies will later today, line up against their Nigerian counterparts in a repeat of the what happened in Niamey, one month ago.
Two of the three teams will make the grade to the next stage of the competition slated for September this year.
