Black Stars arrive today

THE senior national team, the Black Stars, who shocked the Lone Star of Liberia 2-1 in a crucial World Cup qualifier in Monrovia on Sunday are expected back home by a special chartered flight this morning.

The Ghanaian contingent which was originally scheduled to return last night via a Ghana Airways flight had to wait following the cancellation of the flight at the last hour.

According to a Ghana Football Association (GFA) source, the FA responded swiftly by hiring a special aircraft to air-lift the team back home yesterday, but that could not be possible due to bad weather.

The source, however, assured that the team will take off in Monrovia by 7 a.m. this morning and is expected to arrive at the Kotoko International Airport by 10 a.m. today.

The locally-dominated Black Stars suddenly revived their qualification hopes to their first-ever World Cup by that unexpected victory last Sunday.
