St. Gallen defender and Black Stars new boy Musah Nuhu has been ruled out of Ghana’s squad for the 2019 African Cup of Nations, footballMadeInGhana.com can confirm.

The promising defender sadly picked an injury at the Black Stars training on Wednesday in Dubai.

An insider at the Black Stars pre-AFCON camp in Dubai disclosed to FootballMadeInGhana that the defender picked a knee injury after going for a tackle on Christian Atsu and has been ruled out of the competition.

The insider further disclosed that the MRI scan conducted on the player after picking the injury indicated he will not be fit for the tournament which starts in three weeks, hence, the decision to take him out of the squad.

The sad news will be devastating for the 22-year old defender who earned his first call up for the national team just a few weeks ago.

Coach Kwasi Appiah naked a 29-man squad for the pre-AFCON camping before it is trimmed to 23.

Nuhu was expected to make the final list to the tournament following a marvellous season with St. Gallen in the Swiss Super League, scoring a goal in 15 appearances.

Nuhu was one of 5 center backs named by Coach Kwasi Appiah for the pre-AFCON camping.
