Black Stars management committee don't regard advise from former players - Anthony Yeboah fumes

Former Ghana striker Anthony Yeboah has criticized the management committee of the Black Stars after the team failed to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Black Stars' hopes were dashed after being held to a 1-1 draw against Angola on Friday in the Matchday five games.

Ghana needed to win against the Palancas Negras and hope to win their final game after Niger thrashed Sudan on Thursday to hand them a lifeline.

Following the team's failure to qualify, Yeboah blamed the management committee for failing to listen to advice.

He said that instead of leadership listening to the people who have been there before, they ignore and have no value for what they say.

"The current management of the Black Stars does not value or act on the advice we, as former players, offer," Yeboah, who had 59 appearances for the Black Stars and scored 29 goals, told Accra-based Happy FM.

The Black Stars are currently bottom of Group F with three points, and a win on Matchday 6 against Niger won't matter as second-placed Sudan has 7 points ahead of the final round of games.

With no chance of progress, the match against Niger now holds no significance for Ghana as they are bottom of Group F at the moment.

This marks the first time in 21 years that Ghana will miss the Africa Cup of Nations.
