Ghanaian youngster Kwame Afriyie Adubofour Poku was on target for Peterborough United as they secured a 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers in an English League One clash.

The thrilling match took place at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon, where Peterborough grabbed all three points.

Poku opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the game after being set up by Hector Kyprianou.

Ricky-Jade Jones then doubled the lead for Peterborough in the 33rd minute.

Peterborough extended their lead further when Malik Mothersille found the back of the net, sealing a solid performance.

Despite a second-half comeback attempt by Bristol Rovers, with goals from Luke McCormick and Gatlin O'Donkor, it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.

Poku, the 23-year-old English-born Ghanaian forward, has been in impressive form this season, netting three goals in five League One matches.

He will be eager to continue his fine performances throughout the 2024/25 campaign.
