Black Stars slip to 22nd on World rankings

Ghana slip two places to 22nd in the April edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released Thursday.

The Black Stars were previously ranked 20th but have been leapfrogged by Denmark and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Aside the drop, Ghana also lost 9 points as they now have 874 points. Despite the drop, Kwesi Appiah's team are still ranked the second-best side on the African continent behind Ivory Coast with Mali in third position.

The top three in the World rankings remained unchanged as champions, Spain cling onto the number one spot ahead of Germany and Argentina.

According to FIFA, Atotal of 120 “A” international matches were been taken into account for the April edition of the world ranking.

Majority of them were qualification matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil (83 matches) and for the AFC Challenge Cup (20 matches), the remaining 17 matches being friendlies.
