Black Stars squad named for Chile friendly

Goran Stevanovic has named his Ghana squad for this week's game against Chile at PPL Park in Philadelphia, United States.

The Black Stars coach has selected an 18-man group for the game on Wednesday, February 29.

Nine Africa Cup of Nations players have been excluded from the squad

Chicago Fire striker Dominic Oduro, Palermo's Afriyie Acquah and domestic-based Richard Mpong of Medeama have all been called up, and could make their international debuts against Chile.

However, well-known faces such as defender Isaac Vorsah and striker Prince Tagoe are among nine players axed for Ghana's first outing since their disappointing fourth-place finish at the Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea earlier this month.

The game with Chile will be the first for the Black Stars following their fourth-place finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
