The Black Stars of Ghana will from next year pitch camping base at the Azumah Nelson sports complex as they compete for a spot at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, according to Finder Sports.

Ghana’s oldest multi-sport facility is expected to receive a massive facelift and be transformed into a modern sports and youth facility to aid sports development in the country.

The facility which is currently in a deplorable state has received little maintenance since it built during the era of the Supreme Military Council under General Acheampong in the 1970s.

The facility originally known as the Kaneshie Sports Complex can boost of 10,000 spectators capacity but has not been properly utilized in recent times.

Notably, the second round of qualifiers for the 2019 AFCON will be played in September, 2018.
