Former Black Stars player, Augustine Arhinful believes that the management of both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are to blame for their poor run in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League (GHPL) campaign.

The Porcupines are yet to find their feet in the Ghana Premier League this season after they sacked their head Coach Steve Polack, who steered the team to win last season’s MTN FA Cup and qualified to the CAF Confederation Cup where they were knocked out in the second phase by CARA Brazaville.

The Phobians on the other hand, parted ways with their expatriate coach, Frank Nuttal after he was allegedly found guilty of influencing player exodus in the team.

Both Kotoko and Hearts have had a torrid run this season in the GHPL after signing new mangers who have been able to amass 11 and 10 points respectively out of a possible 24 points after match day 8.

Speaking to Ghanaweb TV, former AshantiGold player, Augustine Arhinful, jumped to the defense of the current coaches of the two clubs and rather said that management of both clubs are producing bad results due to bad decisions.

“I think that they’ve not taken right decisions along the line. Hearts of Oak changed their coach, Kotoko also changed their coach,” he said.

“Ask yourself that what really transpired for the coach to be changed,” he quizzed.

Arhinful continued that, “Kotoko for instance had their own coach, the white coach who left because they lost in the CAF Confederation Cup, then just before the league Paa Kwesi Fabin took over. It’s definitely going to take time for him to put the team in other, so the management should blame themselves for what is happening. For Hearts of Oak it’s the same”

He suggested that, “well it’s high time that we try to keep the coaches for a bit of time to see how their progression would go but almost when you sack them you bring someone in to come and change them, it doesn’t work that way.
