Ghana international, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom says he is recovering from the knee injury that prevented him from joining French top flight side Bordeaux in the January transfer window.

The Black Stars striker who plays for Serbian side Red Star Belgrade has been ruled out of action for at least a month due to injury.

But over the weekend, he took to social media, to update his teaming and worried fans that he is making real and rapid progress and is looking forward to returning to the pitch soon. He tweeted with pictorial evidence, “Real injury progress, as I walk unaided...

The Ghanaian international has been one of the key players for the Serbian side in the 2017/18 campaign.

Boakye-Yiadom was strongly linked to many clubs including English Premier League giants Chelsea, Newcastle United, Stoke City and many other clubs due to his exploits in the just ended transfer window.

His goal scoring prowess and exploits in the Serbian League has caught the attention of many scouts and it appears he will be on the move come the summer transfer window.

On transfer deadline day, January 31, Yiadom again posted on social media saying “Injuries do happen but sometimes, they happen at the worst possible time. I expect to be back in fitness, shortly.

Boakye- Yiadom has also become an important member of the new-look Black Stars squad being out together by Coach Kwesi Appiah. Yiadom is the man many have tipped to take over from Ghana’s all-time record goal scorer, Asamoah Gyan.

Gyan is advancing in age and has also had to deal with a lot of injuries in recent years. There are snippets of information that the ex-Sunderland man will call time on his career after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon.
